This and That by Dennis Wade

Remember that feeling, the joyful expectancy of a snow day.  No school. This past Monday,  on the way home from the office,  the mood of all New Yorkers seemed elevated, almost giddy, just like you felt when you were in the 4th grade and got news of the Big Storm coming in overnight. Courts were closed. Mediations cancelled. Depositions adjourned. But the dire predictions of 18 to 20” fizzled–and the City, at least, was just a slushy, windy, miserable mess.

All the lawyers at WCM went to school on their laptops thanks (?) to Citrix. But, for some curious reason, mainly the pursuit of folly, I trudged through the slop to 180 Maiden Lane where the security staff in the lobby seemed surprised to see me. I worked into the afternoon until all the empty offices whispered: Go home. And I did–to my laptop, some music and a glass of very decent Rioja.

And that’s it for this This and That. If you would like to share your snow story, please call or email Dennis.
